After successfully launching its first womenswear fashion collection earlier this year, German discounted retailer Lidl has introduced its male counterpart, in the hopes of drawing more British shoppers to its stores.

The menswear collection, which launched yesterday in stores across the UK, includes winter jackets, shoes and cotton jumpers as well as shirts and jeans. The nine piece range offers items for as little as 2.49 pounds, with jeans selling for 7.99 pounds and loafers for 9.99 pounds.

Josie Stone, non-food buying manger at Lidl, said: “The response to our womenswear collection was phenomenal. It just goes to show that the British public is looking for fashion forward pieces at great value, which is why we wanted to offer a collection for men as well.”

“This new range continues with that concept of offering classic fashion pieces with a bit of an edge but without the designer price tag to match.” The collection will be stocked in a similar fashion to the non-food products Lidl offers in store, and will only be available while stocks last.
