Liz Claiborne collaborates on DKNY Men

Designer label Donna Karan International and womenswear retailer Liz Claiborne Inc. announced teaming up for the production of a new casual menswear collection in the US and Canada called DKNY Men. Financial terms were undisclosed. Liz Claiborne Inc. entered into a strategic licensing agreement with Donna Karan International (DKI) to create a new collection of men's sportswear aimed at the high-end market. Currently the womenswear maker holds the license to produce, distribute and market DKNY Jeans and active apparel for men, women, and juniors in the Western Hemisphere. Alongside DKNY Jeans and apparel, Liz Claiborne Inc. designs and markets a global portfolio of retail-based premium brands including Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand and Mexx. The Company also has a group of department store-based brands with strong consumer franchises and cosmetics and fragrances.

DKNY Men's will represent the modern yet timeless sensibility of the DKNY brand. It will combine stylish function and versatility, the core of a complete men's lifestyle brand, and will offer an array of product from wovens, knits and trousers to blazers and outerwear. Price points for the line will range from $59.50 to $595. DKNY men's will debut in department stores for Fall 08. Mark Weber, Chairman and CEO of Donna Karan International stated, "This collaboration with Liz Claiborne Inc. will allow DKNY to further develop its expanding global menswear business. It will enable us to provide our department store customers with product that combines outstanding design and high quality in the better market segment."

Donna Karan International is one of the world's leading fashion design houses. It designs, markets and distributes collections of women's and men's apparel, sportswear, accessories and shoes under the Donna Karan and DKNY brand names. The Company has granted licenses for the manufacture and distribution of beauty and fashion related products. Since November 2001, Donna Karan International has been a part of luxury goods group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
