Songstress Mariah Carey has recently made more headlines over her wince-worthy fashion choices than song hits. Thankfully Andre Leon Talley, US Vogue's editor-at-large, has stepped in to save her from herself and guide her in the fashionable direction.

Talley has been seen escorting the diva across Manhattan to a dinner hosted by Karl Lagerfeld and a celebration of African-American legends hosted by Oprah Winfrey.

Carey's friend and representative, Marvet Britto, told Pagesix.com, "She has an incredible sense of style - but then she went out in oufits like cutoff shorts and tank tops. It was her old team of people telling her to wear that. Mariah always said she would love Andre's guidance and wisdom, and when I called him to help her, he was thrilled and said, 'I would be honoured!' Andre is there to help Mariah's broken relationships with fashion houses. No one wanted to lend clothes to her because when she wore them the clothes would be different - shorter or not worn right - and it wouldn't complete their vision of the clothing. We don't want people to say things like 'skanky'...But that is changing..."
