Mariette Hoitink: “Lichting has been the debutante ball for young fashion designers for twenty years”

Twenty years ago, Lichting began as a platform for the best graduate collections from Dutch fashion academies during Amsterdam Fashion Week. It has since grown into an important launchpad for a new generation of designers. Former participants have started their own labels or gone on to work for fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Dries Van Noten, Gucci and Viktor & Rolf. For some, Lichting was their first professional platform; for others, it was the decisive push towards an international career.
