This week the Creator of the Year Awards 2008 took place at the Parisian Musee d’Art Moderne. Dutch lingerie designer Marlies Dekkers received the trophy for her innovative style of lingerie and directional design.
The Awards was handed out to Marlies Dekkers on behalf of the Mayor of Paris together with other international designers, all specialised in different design fields. The Dutch designer told FashionUnited: “I feel very honoured to have won this award in the country that invented lingerie.”
The Creator of the Year Awards is a ‘Salon International de la Lingerie’ initiative. This year, Marlies Dekkers will play a leading role in the lingerie communication campaign of ‘Paris Capitale de la Creation’, the association that organises all the fashion trade shows in Paris.
