For a decade the fashion industry has been enjoying Matthew Williamson's delightful designs. To celebrate his 10th anniversary, Williamson is going back to his roots and will show on London ground. Later this year the Design Museum will devote an exhibition to his work.

This season, the Manchester-born designer is bound to dazzle the catwalk with his designs. Known for his pattern, prints and colourful palette, Matthew Williamson is expected to present a stunning and stylish collection.

In October the Design Museum will literally zoom in on Matthew Williamson's career and distinctive approach towards fashion. Visitors can go behind the scenes and experience what goes on in the every day life of a designer by watching the specially commissioned film. His sketchbook show how a design developes from a few pencil lines to a fabulous fashion piece.

Further on display are iconic creations worn on the red carpet by Keira Knightley, Kylie Minogue and Misha Barton. Overall, the exhibition is centralised around four main theme's: Colour and Psychedelia; Hyper-nature; Global Extravaganza and Lifestyle.

A Central St. Martins graduate, his collection called 'Electric Angels' stole many fashion hearts from the get-go. Jade Jagger, Helena Christensen and Kate Moss believed in his talent and agreed to model for his debut show. Together with his creative talent and entrepreneurial approach, his career is a unique success story in the British fashion industry.

Over the years, Matthew Williamson received the Elle Designer of the Year Award in 2004 and Moet and Chandon Award in 2005. In the same year he was appointed as Creative Director at Italian couture cult label Emilio Pucci.

'Matthew Williamson, 10 Years in Fashion' will be on show from 17 October 2007 to 31 January 2008 at the Design Museum. Following the London retrospective the exhibition will go on tour in Spring 2008 to Urbis in Manchester and other international cities - venues tbc.
