Men dress for men

Joseph Abboud has penned a new book called "Threads: My life behind the seams in the high-stakes world of fashion". In it he claims that men dress to impress each other. Sound familiar? And here I was thinking only women dressed for other women.
Abboud, who launched his first men's wear collection in 1987, revealed that men dressed to project an image and a message, especially in the business world. Furthermore they are far less inclined to follow the trend of the moment, preferring to stick to what they know. In this respect they radically differ from most women, who will happily fork out hundreds of pounds for the latest peasant blouse or knickerbockers.
