Milan Fashion Week: Prada AW15

There was pistachio green and powder pink as delectable as macarons, but instead these were clothes that designer Miuccia Prada was challenging with ideals of beauty. What lies beneath the surface?
On the catwalk we saw models dressed as debutantes from the 60s in all shades of pastel colours that were slightly off. The fabric of choice was a double sided technical jersey, which consisted dresses and tailored jackets and trousers that stood away from the body slightly, adding to the notion of fantasy.
On the sound system, Mélanie De Biasio’s haunting track “I Feel You” played on loop, but aside from any philosophical angles, this show featured trademark Prada: the considered accessories like the brooches, kitten heel strappy shoes, the bags that were prim but not too proper.
Key items included cropped trousers, double-breasted jackets, coat dresses, baby-doll tunic setsn and Prada staple Empire line dresses.
Last week Prada recorded a drop in annual revenue, but there was no loss of confidence in this presentation, even if it's sales have taken a nudge.
