More than just fashion
A new creative collaboration with the ZuiderzeeMuseum has resulted in an exhibition which interweaves historical and contemporary design. Modefabriek devotes attention to the Zuiderzee area's rich traditions in combination with contemporary design inspired by historical traditions from the 'from traditional to abstract' viewpoint. The two components come together in a stylish and homely exhibition area, decorated with work by, amongst others, Scholten and Baijings and Studio Job. In a follow up to the last edition, Envy delicacies will again be designing a tasteful terrace with an extensive supply of culinary delights. You will find the imposing 'The Nature of the Animal' work by the multidisciplinary artist Jeroen Henneman (Haarlem 1942) just passed the entrance. Aluminium animals cast in sand show the aspects of human body language. Henneman enjoys both national and international fame as a painter, artist, graphic designer and object maker, but also as a theatre and television maker. Fashion designer Daryl van Wouw will present his 2010 summer collection for this first time at modefabriek. Wouw will put his latest ladies collection (including accessories and sneakers) in the spotlight in a lively manner with a sparkling parade show.
Modefabriek doesn't just ensure visitors are given a clear and complete picture of current fashions, but it also offers a dazzling additional programme with an interesting mixture of fashion, art and design. This has turned the 27th edition of modefabriek into an essential trendsetting platform for any fashion professional, both at national and international scale!
