Montblanc's tribute to Marlene Dietrich

Fine writing instrument company Montblanc is paying homage to Marlene Dietrich with introducing the Marlene Dietrich Special Edition.

The in 1901 borne acclaimed actress of the Golden Hollywood Age, is the inspiration for the Marlene Dietrich Special Edition. With the limited edition Montblanc celebrates the beauty and elegance of the natural charismatic woman, who was also known for her singing and style sense.

The cap of the cartridge fountain and ballpoint pen of the Marlene Dietrich collection are engraved with the signature of the timeless icon. The fountain pen is platinum-plated with 18K gold and the nib has a heart-shaped hole. The barrel and cap are made of black precious resin inlaid with Montblanc's signet and have a mother-of-pearl inlay with platinum-plated rings. The limited edition is finished off with a clip set with a deep blue sapphire in the colour of the actress' eyes. The Commemoration Edition 1901 in 925 sterling silver is set with diamonds. To celebrate the birth year of Marlene Dietrich, Montblanc only took 1901 pens into production.

Previously Montblanc honored legendary film actress Greta Garbo with an exclusive edition. Montblanc, originally called Mont Blanc Pense, named after the highest mountain in the French Alps, has a long respected history in writing instruments. From the beginning of the century the company is known for their classic styling and fine German quality.

The Marlene Dietrich Special Edition is available at the Montblanc boutiques and range from £250 for the Special Edition Unlimited up to £1980 for the Commemoration Edition 1901.
