In aid of a benefit for the United Nation office on drugs and crime, designer house Moschino is sponsoring the Ross Bleckner’s Welcome to Gulu exhibition. The acclaimed American painter Ross Bleckner is appointed a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Goodwill Ambassador to Combat Human Trafficking. The appointment marks the first time a painter has been received the honour of becoming a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

Moschino is proud to sponsor the induction ceremony that will take place on Tuesday, May 12th, at 6pm in the United Nations Delegates. Especially for the opening of ‘Welcome to Gulu’, Bleckner curated the exhibition on behalf of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the International Criminal Court’s Trust Fund for Victims.

The UN opening exhibits 200 paintings created by former child soldiers and abducted girls from Gulu, Uganda. Proceeds raised by the sale of the children’s paintings, as well as portraits taken by Bleckner, will benefit former child soldiers and abducted girls.

Moschino has a strong involvement with the art world, in addition to the sponsorship the Italian brand hosted a cocktail party on April 28th at the Moschino Boutique in New York City where the children’s painting were unveiled in the storefront boutique window.
