MySize has announced that it is currently trailing a new garment app, the MySizeID, which will act as a measurement app for online apparel shopping.

"MySizeID is our next generation measurement application for on-line clothes shopping. With TrueSize, the right size clothing at a store is recommended based on the measurements of clothes from the customer's own closet,” said MySize chief executive officer, Ronen Luzon. “MySizeID takes it one step further, by using an alternative benchmark. It accurately measures a person's body, in spite of natural movement and other factors challenging to recording precise calculations.”

The app has been designed to use a person’s body measurements to help determine correct apparel sizes when shopping online. By using mathematical algorithms, the app can determine the most appropriate size trousers.

All it needs is measurements of the hip breadth of the app user, which is gathering by moving the smart phone from one side of the hip to the other, with the application doing the rest.

Luzon explains: “Simply put the smart phone on one side of your hip. Move it to the other hip and then back again. The application does the rest. With MySize ID customers can exhale knowing they no longer need to fuss with a measuring tape.”

In addition, Luzon adds that unlike other measurement applications, MySize products do not rely on smartphone cameras: “This was a conscious development choice from the beginning in order to ensure customer privacy.”

The app is currently undergoing its first round of trial and testing with a number of pre-selected parties by MySize Inc.
