We've heard through the grapevine that a new cult t-shirt and lifestyle label will make its way from London and Los Angeles to stores for Spring 2010. Called Uzoo, (and pronounced 'you-zoo'), the hotly anticipated launch of its stylish T's and hoodies are a spring must-have, according to LA sources.

Designed by Rafal Antos, formerly of Gap Europe and Giorgio Armani mainline, Antos has created a unisex range of wardrobe staples with an unmistakable edge. Inspired by the backdrop of California, the Uzoo brand fuses 70’s beach culture with Japanese attention to detail resulting in everyday clothes that are relevant, non-generic and considered.

But what is all the hype? It's all in the details. A fine balance between deconstructed, masculine styling, utilitarian detailing in lightweight, super high quality fabrics. The hoodie lies at the heart of the collection and comes in a multitude of shapes: a shrunken unisex reversible terry hoodie, a cropped boxy style in shirting fabric, deconstructed dresses and a delectable summer romper with just enough rock & roll to be worn for evening. The basic t-shirt has been cut and sewn and re-cut, designed with the Uzoo signature sleeve, or fitted with yoke detailing and self paneling. Our favourites are the oversized polo in heather and ribbed tank with lightweight poplin detailing.

Perhaps most notably is the brand greatly supports initiatives that sustain natural environments. As a testament, the website is called PlanetUzoo.com. All fabrics, trims, linings and accessories are sourced from mills and companies that employ best practise and each garment is made in California. The company also aims to donate a share of its profits to causes including The World Wildlife Fund, Amazon Conservation Association, The Rainforest Alliance and Prince's Trust.
