The Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) appointed Eric Musgrave as the new director general. Musgrave will take over from John Wilson, who retires at the end of June after a 38-year association with the sectors’ trade bodies but will continue in a part-time capacity as a second deputy chairman. Musgrave joined UKFT in January 2010 as director general designate.
Concurrent with Wilson’s retirement from full-time employment, after 26 years’ service to the industry, Elizabeth Fox, a deputy director and company secretary of UKFT, will relinquish these roles, but will continue as executive director of the National Childrenswear Association (NCWA). In addition to these announcements at the association’s agm, chairman Peter Lucas confirmed that UKFT would be moving to its new headquarters, at 3 Queen Square, in the heart of Bloomsbury, London, in September.
The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) is the umbrella organisation that represents the fashion and textile sector both domestically and overseas. Its members include major suppliers to high street retailers and brands.
