Independent emerging designer platform Not Just A Label (NJAL) has added 300 new designers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to its e-commerce, as part of its ongoing partnership with Dubai Design District to help “drive innovation in retail and support creative minds” across the region.

Most of the designer collections span across ready-to-wear, jewellery and accessories and are available to buy for the first time and have been sourced from Dubai to Morocco and Lebanon.

New designers including Dubai-based Khulood Thani who has studied at ESMOD Paris, Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion, Haifa Fahad who is known for jewel encrusted, hand-embroidered pieces, and label Salta that using sustainable materials, such as organic cotton and linen.

Other designers include Zaid Farouki, Margherita, Bashar Assaf, HZ by Hissa Zainal, Lara Khoury and Alia Bin Omair.

Dubai Design District, known as D3, aims to engage, inspire and enable emerging talent, as well as provide a platform to showcase Arab creativity to a larger, global audience. By 2018, it will feature a one million square foot Creative Community, which will act as the site’s cultural epicentre, inspiring emerging designers and artists, and attracting tourists to the area. This will be followed up with a waterfront development, with international and design-led hotels, boutique retail concept stores and an outdoor events space, as well as hospitality and leisure facilities.
