Online mens designer boutique oki-ni is zooming in on inspiring and innovative menswear with the launch of its New Faces of Menswear project. A selection of eight designers are given the recognition they deserve by being stocked at oki-ni and the e-store also interviewed the creative force behind each label. The menswear esigners talk about what it's taken to get as far as they have, experiences within the industry and their hopes for the future.

The New Faces of Menswear include Martine Rose, Christopher Shannon, Satyenkumar, Odeur, Lou Dalton, Kling by Kling, Mr.Hare and Hederus. British menswear designer Satyenkumar graduated from the Central Saint Martins MA 2001. Focusing on men's style and tailoring, his first design position landed him on the mainline collection at Versace in Milan. Departing Milan after completing four seasons he returned to London to consult for a three time New Generation award winning designer, before going it alone.

This is Martin Rose's the third collection of the self-titled label. A fine balance of classic shirting and contemporary sportswear. Odeur was founded in 2006 and is currently designed by Petter Hollstrom and Gorjan Lauseger, Odeur is a brand experiment based on the molecular structure of a unique 'Odeur' fragrance.

The two new faces that made it online first were Hederus and Mr.Hare, the debut footwear collection is 'Purest Form', a study of classic oxford and derby constructions of handsome lasts. Lou Dalton has a reputation for rebellious 'English' sportswear with an aesthetic honed since leaving school to take a bespoke tailoring Northern heritage. Her latest collection is coming soon, along with the range from Northern designer Christopher Shannon and a collection of psychedelic clown inspired looks from Karolina Kling.
