Paris College of Art is expanding its Master’s degree offering to include three fashion courses, Fashion Design: New Materials and Technologies, Accessories Design, and Fashion Film and Photography, all of which will be taught in English as it offers students the chance to establish their trade in Paris.

The one-year courses start at the end of August and are targeting emerging artists and designers from various backgrounds who are looking to advance their creative careers in fashion, as well as broadening their knowledge through cross-disciplinary supporting courses and local high-end class projects and internships.

The Master of Arts in Fashion Design will focus on new materials and technologies, encouraging designers to incorporate new technology, which currently can measure temperature, transmit information about the wearer’s physiological state, provide stimulation, release compounds into the skin, into their design, whether that men’s, women’s or childrenswear.

The Accessories Design: Jewellery and Leather Goods masters degree is aimed at emerging designers interested in specialising in accessory design, which the institute states is an expanding market in the fashion and luxury industries. The one-year course will be made up of studio classes and workshops with an emphasis on mastering traditional handcraft and modern techniques, while theory-based and methodology courses help students develop their personal creative visions.

The third course is Master of Arts in Fashion Film and Photography designed to equip students for entry into the expanding market of fashion advertising, and those photographers looking to specialise in fashion. The proposed course will combine technical knowledge and principles of photography/film research and theory, as well as the chance to hone their skills during fashion week.

The three additional fashion masters degrees start August 27.
