Last night at the British Fashion Awards, Phoebe Philo was named Designer of the Year. The Chloe designer, who took over the reigns from Stella McCartney, received the award from Bryan Ferry. 31 year old Philo, who is expecting her first baby later this year, beat nominees Roland Mouret and Christopher Bailey to the punch.
Other winners last night included Alexander McQueen as Best Menswear Designer, Giles Deacon as best newcomer and the Fashion Creator Award went to make-up artist Pat McGrath. The legendary photographer, David Bailey, won the V&A's award for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion. Net-a-porter.com won Best Shop, leaving fellow nominees Asprey and Matthew Williamson in its wake.
