Pieces from The Devil Wears Prada 2 to be auctioned off via Christie’s

Apparel and accessories from the film ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ are set to be auctioned off as part of a sale benefitting the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

The online auction will be held by Christie’s from September 1 to 15, with a coinciding public exhibition of the items to be displayed at the auction house’s New York site from September 8 to 13.

The auction, supported by the film’s star Meryl Streep, includes fashion pieces worn on screen by cast members like Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley, and Lady Gaga.

Items include a Gabriela Hearst dress worn by Hathaway, a Dries Van Noten tassel jacket sported by Streep, Dolce & Gabbana pieces worn during the brand’s SS26 show by various cast, Lady Gaga’s feather dress by Bad Binch TonTong, and Blunt’s Dior suit worn during a lunch with Donatella Versace.

Steven Kolb, CEO and president of the CFDA, said the auction allows bidders to share in the “energy of this terrific depiction of the fashion industry all while contributing to important causes that play a starring role in the film’s narrative - fashion and journalism”.

Kolb added that the CFDA was grateful for the support from Disney and the film’s producers, who recognised the organisation's “efforts to strengthen creativity and next-generation talent with mentorship, resources, and business grants via the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund”.
