Once creative professionals get in to process of promoting and selling their work it is hard to protect intellectual property. To inform emerging artists how to protect their ideas and making sure what to do if someone actually copy or makes money from work that is not theirs, the London College of Cummunication is organising a lecture on ‘How not to get ripped off’.

The seminar will offer a basic guide to the law, covering the steps any creative professional should take in order to stop somebody else stealing or otherwise using some else’s work without permission. It also includes topics such as copyright, patenting, trade marks, licensing and design rights.

This event covers the basics of the law, and is for new Own-it members who haven't attended an IP event previously. Admission is free, places can be registered and booked online.
