Pure is the UK's largest event on the fashion calendar, offering the chance to see hundreds of brands all under one roof. With a huge number of brands showcasing their Spring/Summer 2004 collections, along with a trend presentation from Draper's Record, followed by a catwalk show - the commercial trends for next summer soon became loud and clear.

Hot fuchsia pinks, tomato reds, emerald greens, turquoise blues and canary yellows were amongst them. Brands homing in on this trend include - Pepe Jeans, Ichi, CCDK, James Lakeland, Naughty, Faith Shoes, Brennan & Burch, Pamela Mann and Sanmod.

Then there is the look that is all layered up with ethnic prints, scarves, decorative belts and trinkets and has been inspired by the eclectic mix of Betty Jackson, Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier and Gharani Strok. Tones are kept warm and earthy with orange, khaki, sunset, sand and deep-sea blues. Brands are: Balu, Olly London, Pomelo, Noa Noa, Stephen Collins and Azuleros.

Also the simple & classic look is all about elegant, clean lines with unusual and unobtrusive detailing presented by Escada, Alice Palmer, Pirnia Collections, Belinda Ch'ng and Hunters and Gatherers. Other styles are sportswear, but the style has been 'prettied up' making pieces suitable for a number of occasions, denim, stripes and prints.
