Michael Jackson's death has retailers and apparel vendors in a frenzy to get the late singer's merchandise into stores to capitalise on fans’ hunger for a piece of the iconic pop star. In fact a retail surge with a legacy that stretches back 40 years sees retailers resell memorabilia from the white studded glove, to the red leather jacket, to T-shirts with prints.
Jackson's death has sparked renewed interest in his albums and videos and everyone from the labels that produced his albums to media outlets, retailers and street vendors selling Jackson T-shirts is set to cash in to the tune of millions of dollars.
Online auction site eBay Inc reported a surge in Jackson products, with new listings up 61 percent.
