For spring/summer 2017, River Island is collaborating with artist Margo Bowman as part of its Design Forum initiative, which has seen collections from the likes of Sibling, Zoe Jordan and Eudon Choi.

Bowman, who has a degree in graphic design from Central Saint Martins, is the first artist to collaborate on the Design Forum initiative. Her work combines technology with music, fashion and art to make “meaningful, unexpected and digitally driven experiences”, using film, animation, new media and creative direction, and she will be bringing this to the high street with an 8-piece clothing collection described as “expressive and powerful”.

The River Island x Margo Bowman collection is bold and unique and has been inspired by the idea that “in fashion we always talk about the outside, we never celebrate what’s on the inside” and will see pieces featuring statements such as “come inside, it’s amazing” and “see” scrawled across them.

The capsule collection will launch via a short film at an event during London Fashion Week in February, before going on sale from February 19. Prices will range from 25 to 65 pounds and will be exclusive to the River Island website.
