Jason Wu has been investing a lot of time into his advanced contemporary line Grey Jason Wu. To further his growing brand, Wu has collaborated with Stitch Fix for a capsule collection.

Stitch Fix basically takes the Clueless Cher Horowitz approach to helping people pick out their perfect outfits in the morning. For the collaboration, Wu created outfits with very different fabrics based on different needs that people might have, whether it be a work outfit or party outfit.

This collaboration is one of the first of its kind. While there are plenty of fashion meets technology collaborations, this is the first time Stitch Fix has had this kind of partnership.

“I’ve never been afraid to be the first,” Wu said to Richard Magazine. “I have no doubt that other designers are going to come calling after this.”

Wu was actually the one who approached Stitch Fix when he was on a recent trip to San Francisco. To create the collection, he dug through Stitch Fix's pool of colors and silhouettes to create everything from a polka dot camisole to a floral print dress. Wu is part of a rollout of more contemporary brands coming to the website, which includes brands like Theory.

The partnership is mutually beneficial, as Stitch Fix expands their offerings with more high profile designers and Wu gains access to customer information and preferences for shopping and style as he continues to create collections.

Stitch Fix has been seeing booming business lately, and recently filed an IP. The company was recently valued at 730 million dollars. With the collaboration with Wu, it could be a domino effect for other designer partnerships as the business continues to grow.
