Stitch Fix, the online personal styling service, has shared its prediction for the main color of 2026 in its latest report.

Based on billions of client data points on style and fit, Stitch Fix’s color for the year for 2026 is chili red. A bold, bright shade that is said to reflect strong energy and modern sophistication, this color is predicted to play a key role for consumers.

After the surge of “dopamine dressing” and the rise of “quiet luxury” earlier this year, consumers are now finding a balance, pairing timeless essentials with intentional touches of personality, according to Stitch Fix's report. More than 70 percent of Stitch Fix clients use color to express themselves, showing a growing demand for shades that feel both wearable and expressive.

Sales of red pieces are already up more than 50 percent as of October 2025, and Stitch Fix expects demand to keep rising in 2026, especially in its knitwear and outerwear categories.

More than half of Stitch Fix clients describe their ideal 2026 wardrobe as “elevated basics with bold accents,” and over 60 percent are investing in versatile pieces they can style in multiple ways, further cementing interest in bright colors.

“Color is one of the easiest ways clients can make a statement and show their personality,” said Amy Sullivan, Vice President of Buying and Private Brands, Stitch Fix, in a statement. “Chili Red is a great color to do this with. It’s bold enough to stand out yet versatile enough to be incorporated into almost any wardrobe.”

Starting this week, women’s clients of online personal styling service will see Chili Red pieces added to their Stitch Fix Vision galleries, the GenAI-powered tool that shows personalized images of clients styled in shoppable outfits based on their profile and current trends.
