Infamous for its jackets, Italian fashion brand Moncler collaborated with Young British Artist Stuart Semple on its iconic mascot, the Moncler Duck. The fantasy figure has been transformed into a 160cm fibre-glass sculpture to be passed over to Semple for interpretation. Known for his Post Pop Art signature style, Semple was given creative freedom to embellish the surface of the Moncler toy. The work of art features a snapshot of a mountain landscape, reproduced in black and white pixels and hand drawn by the artist.

Debuting at Miami’s Art Basel on December 5th, the Duck toy will be presented by Franca Sozzani, Chief Director of L’Uomo Vogue. Following the presentation, the Moncler Duck will be touring to the brand’s flagship store in Aspen, St. Moritz and Milan, where it will be auctioned in February 2009. All proceeds will be donated to The Child Priority Foundation, set up by Condenast.
