SuperGroup, the young fashion business behind brand Superdry and retail chain Cult, reported that full- year group sales rose 83% to £139 million in its first figures since it joined the stock market.

Since founded in 1985, the business has marshaled a wide range of premium clothing under its flagship brand, Superdry, together with other own brands and a number of third-party products which are sold in Cult stores.

Currently, SuperGroup has a total of 39 outlets in the UK and Ireland plus a further 54 concessions within House of Fraser stores. Internationally, Superdry branded products are sold in over 20 countries with franchised and licensed outlets in Belgium, France, Scandinavia, the US and Australia.

Conversely this week an industry survey reported British retail sales fell at its sharpest pace in more than a year in April as shoppers remain cautious.
