Arguably one of the most overlooked areas in the industry, nude has long been one of the most sought-out tones for women of all color when it comes to underwear and hosiery. Following the successful launch of nude lingerie label Nubian Skin last September, Bianca Miller, one of the finalist's in last year's series The Apprentice has launched a crowdfunding campaign for her skin-tone hosiery line.

Miller aims to raise 100,000 pounds via Indiegogo to start up her own label which will offer nude tights for women of all skin-tones and complexions. The crowdfunding platform, launched today, will be used to sell pre-orders of the tights as well as experience-based packages with Miller. Named Bianca Miller London, the hosiery label will offer eight nude skin-tones which have been chosen to suit a wide range of complexions ranging from 'English Rose' to 'Sub-Saharan African.'

"My passion for nude hosiery stems from my own personal experience aged 18 and being a December baby it was cold, so I wanted a pair of nude tights to match my ensemble," explains Miller on her crowdfunding page. "I trawled the high street, searched the internet and saw a variety of options, none of which resembled my skin. So what did I do? Well trying to be young and fashionable – I braved the cold! A few years later, whilst working in the City of London, the challenge of nude hosiery became poignant again."

"The job required me to attend corporate events in professional dress and despite having a larger budget it still proved impossible to purchase nude hosiery to compliment my skin tone. It was at this stage I was inspired to start the 'The Be Group', offering personal branding and image consultancy services. Whilst styling my clients and delivering workshops on image I saw women of all skin tones and varying budgets were also struggling."

The initial collection will offer tights and lace hold-ups, with plans to expand the range to include complementary items on a seasonal basis. Retailing at 8.99 pounds per pair, backers of the crowdfunding campaign can pre-order a pair for 7 pounds or two for 13 pounds, with products launching from Autumn-Winter 2015 onwards. The tights and hold-ups will be manufactured in the UK and made from high quality materials.

"Currently there are still very limited options for women who do not fit into the three or so standard nude tones," added Miller. "We are the only brand offering a full assortment of skin-toned hosiery for all women. Bianca Miller London does not have any direct competition and is perfectly placed to change the retail landscape for hosiery."
