The General Post Office, also known as the Moynihan Station, is said to be the new location for IMG's New York Fashion Week come September.
At least, according to Fashion Week Daily. The 1.4 million square foot area, located on W.33rd Street, was built in 1912 by McKim, Mead & White and was designated a landmark in 1966.
Although the news has yet to be confirmed, late last year it was announced that the fashion event had to look for a new venue. New York Fashion Week has largely taken place at the Lincoln Center since 2010, but after a New York state judge ruled that it disrupts an adjacent park the event was forced to look for another location.
Apart from landing a new location, New York Fashion Week is also looking for a new sponsor. The event's main sponsor, Mercedes-Benz previously revealed that this season's fashion week was the last event it would be sponsoring, following a five-year partnership with New York Fashion Week.
