Contemporary apparel label Theory is set to launch its first full accessories collection, consisting of handbags and footwear for spring '15.

Although the label previously flirted with footwear in the past, introducing shoes to compliment its sportswear and launching designer collaborations with Rachel Comey, this step marks its first formal foray into the accessories field.

"Theory needs to evolve with the lifestyle of its clients, who increasingly want to identify with brands across multiple categories and channels," explained Andrew Rosen, founder and CEO of Theory to WWD. "We have invested significantly in design and development, and we have the infrastructure to launch accessories via our own retail network with an approach that is at once ambitious and measured."

In order to fully support its new product range original Theory designer Lisa Kulson, who replaced Oliver Theyskens as creative director of womenswear, has taken on a new dedicated design team. The initial accessories launch contains three different styles of handbags as well as two styles of shoes.

The handbags echo the label's design aesthetic and come in the following shapes: the Urban, a structured bag, the Signature, a tote and the Post, a cross body with removable strap. Prices are set to vary between 295 dollars to 745 dollars.

The footwear comes in either the form of a flat sandal for 495 dollars or a casual block heel sandal for 595 dollars. Theory aims to introduce five more styles of footwear in time for fall as well another an additional handbag. The label also aims to develop a men's leather goods line.

Theory's accessories line is set to launch January 15 in-store as well as online at theory.com.
