The Vans Shop Riot Series is set to kick off this month on April 25-26 in the UK. Vans, a southern Californian based company, started this campaign seven years ago in 2009.

The event will take place at St. Albans’ Pioneer Skatepark with a 3,000 euro prize for the winning team. This year, repeating last year’s event, will end up at the Flesh & Bones Skatepark in Belgium.

Vans Shop Riot is about celebrating the skate teams as well as retail stores in the fashion skating industry. Through a wide range of skateboarders that make up Vans’ consumers, the European following is meant to be celebrated through this project. The “riot” will stop in fifteen different cities along the continent including Poland, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Scandinavia, and others. Each European store of the SoCal based company that chooses to participate will have the chance of winning the 3,000 euro prize.

Vans Shop Riot 2015 kicks off all over Europe

The Vans Shop Riot was created with the vision of promoting the roots of skateboarding as well as local European skate shops. The brand uses this project as a way to actively see and participate in the Vans “skating scene” they have created. Through the level of participants and the project’s success, Vans demonstrates its commitment to the skating community not only in its SoCal locals, but to international consumers as well.

Vans, a SoCal company, was founded in Cypress California as a mass manufacturer of shoes. Renown for its skater-influenced shoes, the brand also produces apparel, socks, hats, backpacks, and more. Last year’s winners include Burnside from Holland and runners-up Skate Pharmacy from the UK.
