Versace Back On Catwalk

Donatella Versace's couture collection returned to the Paris catwalks last week after an absence of two seasons. Couture runway shows had been on hold as part of a financial turnaround strategy for the Italian luxury goods brand, but the spring 04 collection for private customers signified a renewed confidence.

Super-fit garments in high-sheen satin silk showed that Donatella had her glamour gauge turned up full power. Key pieces included a 1970s white trouser suit with a crystal-encrusted belt, a beaded mini-dress and a body-wrapping floor-length gown with skin flashing options.
