Vetements is set to relaunch its debut collection from 2014. The cult Parisian-label, which sees a group of anonymous designers led by Demna Gvasalia, has teamed up with Style.com to launch a renewed, capsule collection of its first collection for Autumn 2014.
Back in the day, the brand collective struggled to gain sufficient coverage of its debut collection (as hard as that is too believe now), so when Yasmin Sewell, fashion director at Style.com, approached Gvasalia to offer the brand on the ecommerce site, the Georgian designer and his brother Guram, CEO at Vetements came up with the idea.
In addition to the capsule collection launch, which will be available exclusively on Style.com new site tomorrow, Vetements has also unveil a renewed website in homage to the old Style.com, according to Vogue. "Our site had little visibility; it was hard to find originally. And I was never convinced about the graphical aspect, anyway," said Gvasalia to Vogue.
"I said, ‘Look at Style.com, everybody who works in fashion knows this website.’ The way to navigate was very clear, very simple, very immediate. The idea was to revive it and use it as a template." The revamped VetementsWebsite.com is currently online and remain very similar to the original Style.com. The new platform does not include ecommerce, but does link to external etailers.
