On Wednesday Wallpaper* magazine hosted its third annual Design Awards in London. The magazine launched the endeavour back in 2005 in their January issue. The awards, which were held in association with Jaguar, honoured the best design in 62 categories, ranging from Best Armchair, Best Beauty brand, Best Fashion Col lection to Best Church and Best Hotel Chain.
Jeremy Langmead, the magazine's editor in chief stated: "Choosing the nominees and winners from the wealth of talent we come across each year is always challenging but an exciting process. We had an extraordinary group of external judges - Jane Birkin, Ian Schrager and viktor & Rolf," amongst others. In fashion, Prada, Pierre Hardy, Tods, Peter Jensen and Fred Perry took the accolades. In beauty and grooming, Dior Homme took best new beauty regime.
Guests from the design and 'who's who'communities frolicked to the prestigious Hayward Gallery where the event was held. DJ Erol Alkan, famous for remixing Mylo, Bloc Party and Scissor Sisters looked after the music - "a conveyor belt of good feeling."
