We Are Kin, founded by Ngoni Chikwenengere, named as one of FashionUnited’s ‘Graduate Ones to Watch’ in 2015, has launched a charity T-shirt collection to raise awareness and funds for CoppaFeel.

There are three designs in the We Are Kin charity capsule collection, two of which has been designed by founder, Chikwenengere, and one by illustrator Beci Kelly, and have been created to serve as a reminder for women to check themselves in light of We Are Kin’s creative director finding a benign tumour.

The tongue-in-cheek designs feature illustrations of two hands checking the nipples, and one with two boobs with nipples pointing in different directions, while the final design simple says Check Yo Self, all with the aim of creating a conversation for other women to share the message about checking for breast cancer.

Commenting on the charity T-shirts, Chikwenengere said: "As young, tenacious woman it can be easy to overlook or ignore symptoms, fearing the worst and avoiding the truth. But as I know, early detection is a head start that should not be passed up on.

“Cop a feel, get familiar with your body, look out for changes and get yourself checked out at the first sign of trouble. As we all hear way too often, health is wealth, and who doesn't want to be rich?”

Each T-shirt is priced 25 pounds and is available exclusively on the label’s website. All profits from the sale of the T-shirts goes directly to CoppaFeel.

We Are Kin launched earlier this year with a presentation during London Fashion Week, it aims to bridge the gap in the market between high street and the mid-market designer brands with fresh, modern and “seasonless” pieces.
