Fashion brands love getting in on pranks for April Fools’ Day, were you taken in by the news that invisible, unstealable boxes were being launched, or that a onesie would be the new ultimate fitness tracker, or even the plans from a fashion retailer to produce printed paint? Here’s a selection of the best April Fools’ jokes FashionUnited spotted over the weekend.

Asos launch new model delivery

Online retailer Asos used April 1 to launch its new innovative delivery service where off-duty Asos models would deliver parcels to customers. In a Twitter video, the retailer showed that instead of next day that customers could instead select one of its six models to hand deliver their orders.

It said that his clothing line would design “high-quality, hi-visibility industrial garments aimed at the multitasking CEO” and that the range would include “sharply tailored three-piece suits cut on the bias from fluorescent orange cloth,” and “bodycon boiler suits for the worker who also works out”.

Oasis to launch printed paint

Fashion retailer Oasis sent out an e-mail to promoted its “printed paint” collection where it said consumers would be able to pick from “printed polkadots, petals and parakeets in satin or matt paint for an on-trend touch in every room”. When people click on the ‘shop it first’ they were greeted instead with a free delivery code instead.

Primark leaves Facebook fans baffled with DIY video

Budget fashion brand Primark posted a length video on its Facebook page captioned: “Can you believe we made THIS using only a Primark bag?!”. The video left the retailer’s fans baffled as the video showed absolutely nothing was created from manoeuvring the paper bag in several different directions, and that the video was instead just on a loop. It racked up almost 50,000 views within an hour and has since risen to more than 1.8 million views.

T-Mobile presents the Onesie

Mobile phone network T-Mobile launch a video to present the “world’s first full-body wearable” that it claims “radically re-envisions the future of fashion, true mobility and the very meaning of unlimited coverage”. It states that its Onesie is a body fitness tracker which can monitor a number vitals, including sleeping, waking, breathing, movement, body position, as well as great coverage. In addition, the wearer just needs to keep their smartphone in the Onesie pocket and the natural body heat generated will charge both the Onesie and the phone.

Zappos launches invisible, unstealable boxes

With package theft being a big problem for Americans, Zappos has created the first ever unstealable box, which includes high-tech features including a self-engaging clocking abilities and a patented electromagnetic wave blocking shell.
