WeWoreWhat is entering a new chapter as founder and chief executive Danielle Bernstein relaunches the 15-year-old fashion brand with a new creative identity, "elevated" materials and a starker separation between the company and her personal profile.

The relaunch comes after years of controversy surrounding Bernstein and WeWoreWhat, including repeated accusations from designers and industry insiders that the brand had copied or closely replicated existing designs. Bernstein has previously denied such accusations, but now acknowledges that the brand’s approach to inspiration and design has at times damaged trust.

In the relaunch announcement, Bernstein said: “After 15 years, I have a much clearer understanding of what WeWoreWhat is and what we do best,. We interpret what we love in fashion for our customer in a way that feels elevated, wearable and accessible. But there were moments when we didn’t draw a clear enough line between inspiration and getting too close to someone else’s work, and I was too quick to defend instead of listen. I understand why that damaged trust.”

Founded by Bernstein in 2011, WeWoreWhat has grown from her personal social media style platform into a multi-category fashion business spanning ready-to-wear, denim, swimwear, outerwear and accessories. The relaunch aims to establish the company as a standalone brand, with its social account moving from @shopweworewhat to @weworewhat, while Bernstein’s account will become @daniellebernstein.

The brand is also expanding its WeWoreWhat Premium line for autumn 2026 from an initial two-style test to 11 pieces made from genuine suede, leather and ponyhair. The collection includes leather jackets, suede outerwear, skirts and ponyhair pieces, with all products priced below 800 dollars.

The new identity launches in full on October 13 across the website, logo, labels, packaging, social channels and campaign imagery. Bernstein has also launched a personal Substack addressing her experience building the company and reflecting on past controversies.

She added: “I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built, and there are things I regret and would do differently today. Both can be true. Buying WeWoreWhat back gave me the opportunity to take everything I’ve learned and think bigger about what this brand can become.”
