Winners Clothes Show Live Design Awards

Debuting in London for 2009 after a twenty-year run in Birmingham, Clothes Show Live 2008 crowned the best up and coming fashion and design talent in the UK. Five of the UK's best young artists in fashion and design have been announced as the winners of the Clothes Show Live Design Awards. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the Design Awards is an educational bursary celebrating the latest emerging talent in the following five categories; Young Artist of the Year, Young Designer of the Year in Association with Asos.com, Young Accessory Designer of the Year in association with Firorelli, Young Fashion Photographer of the Year in association with Nikon and Young Stylist of the Year in association with Maybelline New York.

For the 2008 Clothes Show Live Design Awards, Grant Holmes, Leeds took home Young Artist of the Year; Charlotte Christy was selected for Young Designer of the Year Award in association with asos.com; Young Accessory Designer of the Year in association with Fiorelli went to Alexandra Rowe; Claire Pepper, Brighton University was awarded with Young Fashion Photographer of the Year in association with Nikon; and Joanna Willis, Bristol is 2008's Young Stylist of the Year in association with Maybelline New York.

"This year's winners really are the cream of the UK's emerging fashion and design crop," says Gavin Brown, Managing Director of Clothes Show Live. "We are proud to be associated with such exciting new talent and hope that through these awards we are helping to launch five successful careers. To be chosen by the industry's leading professionals should stand them in good stead and we look forward to seeing more from them in the future."

The Clothes Show Live 2008 took place from 5 to 10 December 2008 at Birmingham's NEC. The 2009 show launching in London is set for 31 May at the ExCel Exhibition and Conference Centre and will feature leading fashion and beauty brands, a 2,500 seat fashion theatre and a host of celebrity and expert appearances over three days.
