Winslet in YSL at Oscars

A subdued night at the 81st Academy Awards in terms of red carpet fashion, however Best Actress winner Kate Winslet looked resplendent in Yves Saint Laurent. Wearing an asymmetric evening gown in grey degrade satin and embroidered black silk tulle, Winslet looked every inch the Hollywood star.

We wonder, however, why she didn't opt to wear an English designer when the Oscar's took place at the same time as London Fashion Week. Perhaps because YSL does not have an English equivalent?
