Alessandra Bettari says farewell to Valextra to head up Jil Sander

Alessandra Bettari, former CEO of Italian luxury goods company Valextra has been tapped by Franco Pené, president of Onward Luxury Group, the European arm of the Japanese group, to become his new partner in charge.

One of her first takes in her new role as Pené’s new right hand, is to over the daily management of German fashion label Jil Sander as its current CEO, Alessandro Cremonesi prepares to exit the role and Pené gets ready to take over the helm.

“Alessandra Bettari has already worked for our group, at Joseph. She is coming back to assist me. She will be notably be coordinating the day-to-day management of Jil Sander,” stated Franco Pené to Fashionmag.

Bettari brings with her years of experience working in the international fashion and luxury division. Prior to joining Valextra in 2014 she was formerly global commercial director at Joseph and CEO and president of Fendi Japan, where she was credited with repositioning the label’s position on the local market.

She also was president for Furla Japan and spearheaded the brand's retail network in the country.
