At 12 a.m. on Monday, the newly minted Yoox Net-a-Porter Group began trading on Milan's stock exchange, and Alison Loehnis, president of Net-a-Porter, is now group president of Net-a-Porter Group. She will report to Frederico Marchetti, CEO of the new group.
While the role doesn't seem like that big of a change from Loehnis's previous role, she will presumably be handling some of the responsibilities that Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet would have handled had she stayed on with the company. Loehnis will be overseeing net-a-porter.com, mr.porter.com, theoutnet.com, and Porter magazine.
Loehnis has been with Net-a-Porter since 2007, and is the force behind the introduction of the beauty and activewear categories, in addition to negotiating Chanel's first venture into e-commerce. The latter being a rather revolutionary feat given luxury brand's former attitudes towards e-commerce.
The merger of Yoox Group and Net-a-Porter now creates the largest super conglomerate luxury fashion e-commerce destination in the world. The company will be tough to beat in the luxury e-commerce market, and is now a greater force to be reckoned with than ever.
