London - Alvanon president Ed Gribbin has been named to the board of directors of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), the world’s leading federation for apparel manufacturers, their associations, apparel retailers and the supporting industry.

The announcement was made at the IAF’s board meeting in Germany by its president, Rahul Mehta, and Gribbin’s addition is part of the associations on-going plans to represent its 150,000 company members from nearly 40 countries that provide products and services to the apparel industry.

Commenting on his appointment, Gribbin said: “The IAF is a force for progress throughout the global apparel industry, and I am truly honoured to be named to its board of directors. I look forward to bringing Alvanon’s knowledge and expertise to IAF’s existing resources in ways that bring a fresh, creative perspective to some of our industry’s most critical issues.

“We will work closely with the IAF to spur industry advancements, especially in the areas of supply chain efficiency, marketing and merchandising, product development and sizing and fit.”

In addition to his new role as an IAF board member, Gribbin also serves on the board of directors of the American Apparel and Footwear Association and the Sewn Products Equipment Suppliers of the Americas.
