Andy Martin to join John Lewis Partnership's board of directors

The John Lewis Partnership has said that Andy Martin would be joining as a non-executive director of the board and as chair of the audit and risk committee. The company added that Martin succeeds Baroness Sarah Hogg who joined the Partnership board in 2011 and whose term of office ended on June 30, 2018.

Commenting on Martin’s appointment to company’s board, Sir Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of John Lewis Partnership, said in a statement: “Andy's wealth of business and financial experience will complement the strength of the board and we are looking forward to his input in shaping the continued development of our It's Your Business 2028 strategy. I would also like to personally thank Baroness Hogg for the valuable contribution she has made to the Partnership over the past seven years.”

Andy Martin appointed to John Lewis Partnership board

Martin, John Lewis said, brings a wealth of experience having worked as a chartered accountant and was until 2015, group chief operating officer, Europe and Japan, for Compass Group plc, having previously been their group finance director from 2004 to 2012. Before joining Compass Group, he was group finance director at First Choice Holidays plc and prior to that held a number of senior finance roles at Granada Group plc.

Since 2011, Martin has been a Non-Executive Director of EasyJet plc, chairing their finance committee, and in 2016 became a non-executive director at Intertek Group plc and chair of their audit committee and senior independent non-executive director of global specialist recruitment company, Hays plc in 2017.

Martin will join two other non-executive directors, Keith Williams who is also Deputy Chairman of the Partnership board and Laura Wade-Gery.
