Designer label Anya Hindmarch has tapped Helen Wright to succeed James McArthur as chief executive officer, who will leave his position after a four year tenure. Wright is set to join the team in May, following McArthur departure, although he remains a shareholder and will keep close connections with the company.

"This is an exciting next phase for Anya Hindmarch," said Hindmarch, founder of her eponymous label, chairman and chief creative officer to WWD. "We will now focus on taking the brand’s creativity and energy to our retail environments and new territories. Helen brings great experience of translating creative output into business growth. I very much look forward to working with her."

Wright joins the team at Anya Hindmarch from Karl Lagerfeld, where she held the role of global vice-president of retail. Prior to taking on her position at Karl Lagerfeld last April, Wright worked for three years at Fendi as president for Europe, the Middle East and India. She has held management positions at Ralph Lauren and Bamford.

Hindmarch thank McArthur for his contributions to the label, calling him a "change merchant" for the label, after the duo helped streamline the brand's direction. "He leaves a brand that has just won the Accessories Designer of the Year award (at the British Fashion Awards), and with a wholesale order book that is up 60 percent. I am very grateful for his contribution."
