Carven names two new women's wear designers

Just in time for Paris Fashion Week, which will be all the fashion internet sphere will be talking about this week, Carven has announced that they now have two new artistic directors for their women’s wear line. Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudad will be taking over the helm at Carven. The duo, who actually met each other years ago at the Atelier Chardon Savard fashion school in Paris, and even worked at Givenchy together for some time, will be debuting their first collection for Carven this Thursday at Paris Fashion Week. This comes just a month after Carven had named Barnabé Hardy its new menswear designer.
The position of artistic director for women’s wear had been vacant ever since Guillame Henry departed from Carven for Nina Ricci in October. Henry had been at Carven for almost five years at that point. Martial and Caillaudad will have their work cut out for them, as Henry was credited with breathing new life into the brand, so, he will be quite a tough act to follow. Fear not though, both Martial and Caillaudad have quite the resumés.
In addition to Givenchy, Martial has been at the helm of Italian brand Iceberg since 2013, and also worked at Paco Rabanne. Caillaudad got his start designing shoes at Marc Jacobs, and has also been a consultant for Tod’s and Jil Sander. It’s safe to say that Carven seems to be in good hands. "We warmly welcome Alexis and Adrien to Carven as we continue to define a Parisian and new elegance for the woman of today. We look forward to the overall creative vision they will bring to the world of Carven," Henri Sebaoun, Carven CEO, said in a press release.
It will be interesting to see what the duo manages to bring to the brand, but this week we will find out. Carven women’s wear is entering a new era, with not one, but two great artistic directors at the helm. As if Paris Fashion Week didn’t have enough excitement already, many will be anxiously awaiting this collection.
