CEO Alberto Piantoni exits role at Missoni

Change is underway for the management team at Italian fashion house Missoni, following the impending departure of chief executive officer Alberto Piantoni, sparking rumours of a potential sale.

First taken on board in 2011, Piantoni served until the end of his term, without a contract renewal, according to Fashionmag.com. The Missoni family has personally stepped in to take over the fashion house’s management, with each member overseeing one sector of the business, confirmed the company earlier this week.

Prior to joining the team at Missoni, Piantoni worked for the Italian Ministry of Economic Development. He also served as the CEO of the Richard Ginori porcelain company, which has been acquired by Gucci since then.

Since taking control of Missoni’s management, the family has stood steadfast in denying rumours that the fashion house is up for sale. According to reports, potential buyers include French conglomerate LVMH and Matteo Marzotto.
