Chris Benz has been appointed Head of Women’s Design at J.Crew, effective immediately. He’s joining the company from Bill Blass, where he had been serving as Creative Director since 2015. This is not the first time Benz works for J.Crew: he worked there as womenswear designer for a year after graduating from Parsons School of Design, leaving the company to launch an eponymous label in 2007.
"The company recognized the need for a fresh perspective from someone who understood the importance of the brand's heritage and style to give consumers the designs they have come to expect from the iconic company. Chris Benz’s colorful, distinct aesthetic complements J.Crew’s own”, said J.Crew in a statement.
