Courrèges has appointed Christine Ahlers as the company’s new CEO, reports Fashion Network. Ahlers most recently served at Acne Studios for last 12 years and will join the label in February, which was acquired by Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting in 2011.

The report added that the company that was founded in 1961 by André and Coqueline Courrèges is exploring possibility of a sale to either to Keringor Artémis or the Pinault family holding. Artémis holds a minority stake in the company. The company is also looking to hire a new creative director after the design duo Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant left the company last year.

Quoting a statement, released by Bungert and Torloting, the report further said that Ahlers will announce the new creative leadership "in the coming weeks". "After the reorganisation phase guided by François Le Ménahèze [president of the label since April 2017 - Ed.], Christina's arrival marks today the opening of a new chapter for the house," the duo added in the press release.

Ahlers kicked off her career in the sales department of Martin Margiela. In 2006, she joined Acne Studios leading the Swedish brand's French office opening, which she continued to look after until her most recent move to Courrèges. She looked after sales and communication for Southern Europe; Eastern Europe; the Middle East and Asia at Acne Studio.
