Bottega Veneta parent company Kering has announced that the brand has a new chief executive officer. Claus Dietrich Lahrs, the former CEO of Hugo Boss, will be stepping into the role, succeeding Carlos Alberto Beretta. Lahrs will officially step into the role on Tuesday.

Beretta will be stepping into a new role of chief client and marketing officer at Kering on Tuesday too.

Lahrs stepped down from his role as CEO of Hugo Boss in February after eight years with the company. One of his biggest feats with the company was appointing Jason Wu as creative director of the women's wear line. However, Boss has seen some tumultuous times over the past two years, so he exited by mutual agreement.

Throughout his career, Lahrs held management positions at Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Christian Dior Couture.

In a statement, Kering ceo Henri-Francois Pinault said "We are delighted to welcome Claus-Dietrich Lahrs to Bottega Veneta and to Kering. His outstanding experience and extensive knowledge of the luxury market will be crucial in the management of the exceptional maison that Bottega Veneta is. I am confident he will build on what has been accomplished so far within the house and accelerate its development.”

With a downturning retail market, Lahrs will have his work cut out for him. He will need to focus on retail expansion as well as digital commerce to help grow the brand.
