After appointing Christine Ahlers as the company’s new CEO, Courrèges has roped in Yolanda Zobel as the new Creative Director, reports Fashion Network. Known as women's ready-to-wear specialist, Zobel will join the business on February 26, 2018 and her first spring/summer 2019 collection for the label will be showcased in Paris next September.

Starting her career with Giorgio Armani in 1999, Zobel later worked on the womenswear range at Chloé, Jil Sander and Acne Studios. She worked with Christina Ahlers at Acne Studios, who was appointed CEO of Courrèges in January this year.

The report added that the company that was founded in 1961 by André and Coqueline Courrèges is exploring possibility of a sale either to Keringor Artémis or the Pinault family holding. Artémis holds a minority stake in the company. The company has been on the look out for a new creative director after the design duo Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant left the company last year.

Courrèges was acquired by media businessmen Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting in 2011. Artémis, the holding company of the Pinault family, owners of the Kering group now holds 40 percent stake in the company along with Kering, which has a minority stake in Courrèges since 2015.

At the time of Ahler’s appointment, the report quoting a statement, released by Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting, had said that Ahlers will announce the new creative leadership "in the coming weeks".
